Client FAQ’s

  • I have over ten years of experience shooting photos in a wide variety of settings from portraits, to action sports. I have formal training and use professional equipment to get the highest quality images. My work in film production means I am very detail oriented in all aspects from planning, shooting and delivery.

I love what I do and I’m committed to going above and beyond for my clients. I’m a major hype girl and help guide the most camera shy into feeling more comfortable. I overthink everything in advance so you don’t have to, from umbrellas, blankets and props to bug spray, sunglasses and combs, I will have it dialled!

I don’t take on every project, so your photos are never in a long cue to be processed. I deliver photos much quicker than the industry standard, meaning you can enjoy them a lot sooner.

  • Shooting at Golden Hour, within the 2 hours before sunset, is prime photo time! When the sun is lower in the sky, it creates much softer, natural glowing light, and much better images. I always plan to shoot portraits during softer light because the results are beautiful. Shooting in the middle of the day can mean bright full sun, which creates more contrasting images. Midday shoots have harsher light which can increase contrast in faces. More planning and location scouting is required for sessions that require midday shooting such as weddings.

    • Neutral colours tend to look best in portraits, too much dark black or navy can feel heavy.

    • Families/ Couples should choose complimenting colours, but there’s no need to match perfectly

    • Avoid busy patterns, and large logos on shirts.

    • Avoid heeled footwear if location is in a natural outdoor setting so it’s easier to move around.

  • For all couples, family and small elopement shoots, I deliver a sneak peek album within 48 hours of the shoot. Final delivery of images is always within 2-3 weeks of the shoot unless otherwise discussed.

  • When your album is ready, I will email you a link and special code for my online photography platform. This platform is very user friendly, and allows for two download options. Web quality for sharing on socials, and a high quality suitable for print. Albums require a code for download and can be password protected for your privacy.

Albums are available for download for 30 days after delivery. After that they are removed to allow space for new albums. I recommend downloading your album (in both web and high quality) and storing a copy on a hard drive and a copy in a cloud service like google drive or dropbox.

  • Detailed advance planning including: Location scouting, lighting considerations, weather mitigation tools. Photography time spent shooting, posing direction. Editing time, digital album creation, file management and equipment fees.

Locations outside of the Bow Valley require travel not included in base rates. This is always discussed while establishing your initial quote.

  • Generally, I only take on outdoor elopements and small, intimate mountain weddings >30 guests.

Larger celebrations require additional planning, a second photographer for additional coverage and more images to process—so are considered on a case by case basis.

  • When establishing a quote for commercial projects, I ask my clients to prepare a detailed proposal that includes the scope of the shoot, expected deliverables, mood boards, desired location, image use/licensing requests and talent requirements.

Some projects require travel, rental of special equipment, extended location scouting, permit application, hiring talent and additional photographers or videographers. I have a wide network of experienced, reliable colleagues in the Bow Valley to assist on larger creative projects. Creatives in photo and video production as well as on-camera talent from models to action sport athletes.

Ali was amazing, for such a busy day like a wedding, having her there was very refreshing, she made us feel very comfortable and the pictures are absolutely stunning. Also, organizing everything was very easy and stress free, I highly recommend her :)

Client Testimonials

I was blown away by my wedding photos. Nothing I could say would be enough for how amazing Ali is, how amazing the photos are and how comfortable she made me feel. We told her that we wanted light and natural photos with a hint of whimsical and she really delivered! They are so beautiful, I cried like a baby.
